CLASS DESCRIPTION

Introduction to Precious Metal Clay
("PMC") Workshop

Learn the wonderful and endless possibilities that PMC provides in this 2-Part Introduction Workshop. Shape, form and design beads, toggles, charms, pendants and so much more with PMC Clay for produce a beautiful sterling silver creation!

PART 1 will be 5 hours in length and will include the following:
A brief overview of 3 different types of silver metal clay and
how to use paste, paper and syringe
Demonstrations of the Following:
- Rolling out the Clay;
- Molding and Shaping (including how to make your own rubber stamps);
- Cutting, Filing and Sanding;
- Adding: such as jump rings, cabachons and cut gems; and
- How to create your own silver paste for touch ups.
This Workshop will provide and include all your supplies needed. If you have a design that you would like to copy in the form of a button or rubber stamp, feel free to bring it with you to the class (additional supplies will be on hand for you to purchase). 28 grams of PMC will be provided and you may be surprised how far it goes. You will also be given 2 small cubic ziconia stones for setting. The 28 grams provided is enough to make the following jewelry:
- Pendant and Earring; OR
- Bracelet; OR
- Toggle and Clasp (w/ enough for a medium sized pendant).

PART 2 will be an hour in length and will include the following:
Fired jewelry pieces
will be returned and the finish class shows you how to:
- Brush off the piece to clean away the organic material left over on the Silver;
- How to dip the piece in liver of sulfer for contrast;
- How to burnish the piece to bring up a high gloss shine; and
- Tumble the pieces to get the best shine possible.


MATERIAL'S NOTE: Kindly be advised that in order to keep the cost of the Classes to a minimum, Crystal Beads of Boston does not take any part of the Teacher's Fees and therefore it is a requirement that ALL student's materials to be used in the class MUST be purchased from Crystal Beads of Boston. We appreciate your understanding with respect to this requirement.
